REFUND POLICY
When and how you can request a refund.
Effective date: [待确认 — 域名 DNS 配置和 Stripe 启用后填写] · Billing contact: billing@charforge.org
This Refund Policy explains when and how you can request a refund for paid plans on ChatForge. It supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights granted by the law of your place of residence.
1. Free plan
The Free plan is provided at no charge. There is no refund amount for the Free plan because there is no payment. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
2. Pro subscription — 14-day cooling-off
You may request a full refund of your most recent Pro subscription payment within 14 days of the original charge, provided your usage during that period is consistent with a genuine trial of the Service (a reasonable evaluation allowance, as stated at checkout and in your account page).
If you have already consumed more than the stated evaluation allowance (for example, by generating a large number of bibles or by relying on Pro-only exports), the refund may be partial or declined. We will tell you the reason in our reply.
How to request:
- Email billing@charforge.org.
- From the address associated with your ChatForge account.
- Include your Stripe order / invoice ID, the date of the charge, and a brief reason.
Never include your full card number. We do not need it to issue a Stripe refund.
3. Lifetime one-time payment — 14-day cooling-off
You may request a full refund of your Lifetime one-time payment within 14 days of the original charge, on the same conditions as for Pro. If your refund is approved, your account is immediately downgraded to the Free plan, and all Pro / Lifetime features (Cast relationship map, Markdown / Scrivener / Notion export, Series consistency engine, Fiction Editor, priority support) are removed.
4. Used generations and exports
Generations, exports, and other consumption that you have already performed against your paid subscription or Lifetime purchase are not refundable, except where required by law or where the Service failed materially (for example, a documented outage that prevented the feature you paid for from being usable).
5. Duplicate charges, unauthorized charges, technical failures
If you believe you were charged twice, charged without authorization, or charged because of a documented technical failure, contact billing@charforge.org with the order ID. We investigate every report and, where appropriate, issue a full or partial refund through Stripe.
6. Statutory withdrawal rights
If the law of your place of residence grants you a withdrawal or cooling-off right (for example, a 14-day right for online subscriptions under EU / UK consumer law), you can exercise it within the legally prescribed window by emailing billing@charforge.org with a clear statement that you wish to withdraw. We will confirm and refund in accordance with the law.
7. Cancellation vs refund
Cancelling your Pro subscription stops future renewals. It does not automatically refund the current paid period. To request a refund for the current period, follow the steps in section 2. Lifetime has no renewals to cancel; refund eligibility is governed by section 3.
8. How we issue refunds
Approved refunds are returned through Stripe to the original payment method. The time it takes for the funds to reach you depends on your card issuer and bank; in our experience this is typically 5–10 business days, but it can take longer.
9. Abuse
We monitor refund requests for abuse. We may decline refunds that we reasonably believe are part of a pattern of exploiting the cooling-off period without genuine interest in the Service.
10. Changes
We may update this Refund Policy. Material changes will be communicated where required by law. The effective date at the top reflects the latest change.
